Australian Beer Can Collectors Association
Association Inc. It is held in a different state/city each year with each Division of the ABCCA being allocated a Canathon on a rotational basis. It was originally held on the Australia Day weekend each year, but is now held earlier in January to better accommodate school holidays, etc. The inaugural Canathon was held in the Sydney suburb of Fairfield on 27 January 1980. Since 1981 the ABCCA has had much-valued sponsorship from Australia’s biggest brewer - Carlton & United Breweries (Foster’s Australia). The company has produced and filled a special limited-edition beer can commemorating the Canathon every year since 1981. The series of cans is highly regarded amongst ABCCA members and we thank CUB for this continued sponsorship. The next Canathon will be held in Perth, Western Australia on January 11 to 14, 2013 |
