Can Of The Year

Mike Pinkard first came up with the idea of an annual award for "Can of the Year"
in 1979.  Club members voted for whichever can they thought was the best from
Australia (and NZ until 1985) to be released that year.  Cans eligible are all those
released for general sale between 1 October the previous year and 1 October of
that year.
